0Antonio Banderas Cast as Pablo Picasso in ’33 Days’
Antonio Banderas has been tapped to play Pablo Picasso in Carlos Saura’s drama, 33 Dias (33 Days). Variety reports that the movie follows the painter’s “emotional turmoil as he worked on his masterpiece, ‘Guernica.” The project’s title refers to the 33 days it took Picasso to complete the mural. The famous artwork is said to have captured the legendary painter’s emotions from the destruction of Basque town of Guernica by the Nazi Luftwarre during the Spanish Civil War in 1937.
In addition, the film also expands on Picasso’s relationship with his lover, French artist Dora Maar. I can’t wait to see this film, as I know Banderas will do a phenomenal job playing the iconic painter.
